Concert: Julia Bengtson
Paradisæblevej 23, 2500 København

How does a song come into being? What arises in the distance between the first thought and the final song? And how do life's experiences, contradictions and unanswered questions find their way into the music?

Tonight, Swedish musician Julia Bengtson invites the audience into her musical universe through an intimate conversation concert at Fabula. In a combination of live performance and conversation, the evening provides an insight into the thoughts, processes and narratives that lie behind her music.

Julia Bengtson's musical practice draws threads between Nordic folk traditions and Swedish pop. Her songs often stay between opposites: presence and distance, fragility and strength, hope and despair. With curiosity and honesty, she writes about the tensions and emotions that hide in everyday moments.

The evening is based on Bengtson's debut album det ska bli som det ska, released in October 2025. The album revolves around heartbreak, anger, hopelessness and distance, but also about the belief that things have to fall into place even when everything seems hopeless.

In conversation with the evening's moderator, Bengtson will open up about her songwriting, her relationship with her instruments, from the violin to the electronic sound universe of the album, and the thoughts, questions and moods that fill her artistic work right now. The evening alternates between conversation and music, between the narratives behind the songs and the songs themselves. The moderator will be published leading up to the event.

The event is part of Fabula's conversation concert series, where the music meets the narratives, reflections and creative processes behind it.
