This evening, vibraphonist, composer and performer Viktoria Søndergaard invites the audience into her musical universe through a conversation concert at Fabula. In a combination of live performance and conversation, the evening provides an insight into the artistic choices, experiments and work processes underlying her music.

Viktoria Søndergaard is one of the most original voices on the Danish jazz and improv scene. With her unusual choice of instruments, she has moved the vibraphone far away from its traditional role and into a vibrant, playful and expressive universe. Her music contains both raw energy, melodic sensibility and an almost theatrical approach to the concert format, where vocal elements, movement and strong stage presence are a natural part of the expression. The music moves effortlessly between explosive rhythmic progressions and pensive, almost melancholic passages.

In conversation with the evening's moderator, Søndergaard talks about her relationship with the vibraphone, her way of composing and improvising and the ideas that drive her artistic practice. The evening alternates between conversation and music, between the reflections behind the works and the music itself.

For the concert she performs with her trio, consisting of vocalist Elvira Skovsang and pianist and vocalist Frederik Blæsild Vuust - two strong and versatile profiles on the Danish jazz scene. Together they create a dreamy, open and dynamic musical space.

The event is part of Fabula's conversation concert series, where the music meets the narratives, reflections and creative processes behind it.
